Parent Sense Study
Thank you for considering participating in our study.
Before you decide, it is important that you have all the information and understand what the research entails and why you have been selected to take part. Please read through the information below carefully and please feel free to ask questions if anything is unclear.
This study is looking at how our mobile phone application can help new moms to parent with confidence. We are assessing whether the use of our app during your baby’s first year helps you feel more confident and supported.
As a first-time mom, you have been approached because we are looking at how our app supports first-time moms as they care for their new babies.
If you decide to take part in this study you will be asked to complete a questionnaire now and then again in 6 months time. In the meantime we just ask that you continue to use the app as you normally would.
Upon completion of the study, all participants will receive a Premium Subscription to the app and a free consultation session with Meg Faure, the author of the Parent Sense app.
Your participation is entirely voluntary; and you therefore have the right to withdraw from the study at any point and you will not be required to provide a reason for this nor will there be any consequences for this decision. If you decide to withdraw we will destroy your questionnaire data and we will not access your app usage data.
If you decide to take part in this study we will be accessing your app usage data. Because of this, we will need your name, email address and your baby’s name. This information will be used for reference purposes only. This information will be securely stored and only available to those that are part of the research team. This information will not be published or shared with anyone outside of the team.
Your personal information, consent form and data will be stored on a secure server. All laptops and folders will be password protected. The only people with access to the data will be people who are involved in the study and will not be made public to others.
Due to data protection regulation you have control over your personal data and how it is used. However, if you agree for your data to be used in research some of those rights may be limited in order for the data to be used to its fullest and for the research to be accurate and reliable.
